The video for Robyn’s Dancing On My Own, the lead single taken from her first of three albums to be released this year, premiered yesterday via Robyn’s official site.

Dancing On My Own’s video is quite different to Robyn’s most recent videos since establishing her own record label, because it looks like it had a much bigger budget and it’s a lot more glossy. The stage set for the performance scenes, similar to those seen in Kelly Clarkson’s video for Walk Away, looks very detailed and the lighting changes add a nice effect. The performance scenes are also very fitting for the video unlike some videos which feature a performance for the sake of it.

The club scenes are shot very well and stick closely to the lyrics of the song. They show Robyn dancing on her own in a club while the people around her are dancing together and kissing before she leaves the club at the end of the video.

While the video doesn’t have many different scenes, it’s nicely edited and really enhances the melancholic atmosphere created by the song itself. It’s also not very eventful but it fits the song perfectly and could help the song become a deserved hit for Robyn.

Dancing On My Own will be released on June 7th followed by the first album of three, Body Talk Pt. 1, on June 14th.

On February 5th we went to see Kelly Clarkson live in Dublin, Ireland on her All I Ever Wanted tour. Kelly was incredible in concert. Her vocals were on top form for the whole show. While her tours are not much of a production, with Kelly it doesn’t matter because it’s all about her voice.

The covers she performed were surprisingly some of the highlights of the night especially the mashup of Patsy Cline’s That I Would Be Good and Kings of Leon’s Use Somebody.

Other highlights included the stunning crescendo Sober, the Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) mix of If I Can’t Have You and the live version of Dave Audé’s remix of Never Again.

Kelly’s interaction with the crowd showed just how normal she is and she looked like she was having such a good time on the stage for the whole show.

According to reports, Cheryl Cole is working with Ryan Tedder on some new tracks. Some sources are saying Cheryl is looking for a U.S. career and is bringing 3 Words over there repackaged. Other sources are jumping to the conclusion that Cheryl is working on her second album already. Neither have been confirmed but after the success of 3 Words, it’s not surprising that Cheryl wants more and with Nadine Coyle’s album out so late in the year, which could halt any chances of Girls Aloud returning by the end of the year, why shouldn’t she want more?

Fans of course are worried about Cheryl working with Ryan, in fear of another one of his signature hits (Already Gone, Halo, Bleeding Love) being given to her which definitely wouldn’t work for an artist like Cheryl. What people need to remember is, Ryan does have some very good songs that weren’t huge hits but would be more suiting to Cheryl and with her public persona she could excel similar songs to be the hits they deserve to be. Such songs include:

Hilary Duff – Gypsy Woman, Holiday, Reach Out
Shayne Ward – Tell Him
Natasha Bedingfield – Love Like This
Sugababes – Thank You For The Heartbreak
Kelly Clarkson – Tip of My Tongue, Impossible, If I Can’t Have You

Songs in the same vein as the one’s above, made to sound more like Cheryl’s sound, could really work for her and launch her career in the U.S. along with 3 Words and possibly Fight For This Love.
